Embracing 2024 Bridal Trends

As we step into 2024, the world of bridal makeup is alive with fresh trends that promise to redefine bridal beauty for the year. As a bridal makeup artist, I’ve been asked for everything, from blue eyeliner, glitter, a bright pink lip and cheek, to a toned down, soft and dewy look. If you’ve thought it, I’ve been asked for it! So far in 2024 I’ve seen a shift in bridal requests in my trials, so let me break these down for you and hopefully give you some inspiration for your 2024 wedding along the way!
The Glow
Gone are the days of heavy, cakey makeup! In 2024, my brides are embracing a more ethereal, luminous glow that radiates from within. Think sun kissed dewy skin, with a subtle sheen that highlights your natural features. Achieve this look with lightweight, hydrating foundations, luminous primers, and strategically placed highlighters that catch the light in all the right places.
Soft Eyes
Keep the eyes soft and dreamy with neutral shades, soft shimmers, and fluttery lashes to strike the perfect balance between modern and timeless.
Liner Focus
For the bride who wants to make a statement, graphic liner accents are the way to go! I’ve done 2 looks so far this year that have seen eyeliner ramped up. Try a black cat eye, with a colour placed on top - it can really take your eye look to the next level!
Flushed Cheeks
Rosy, flushed cheeks never went anywhere, and I’m pleased to say they’re still here and on trend for 2024. A sweep of rosy blush can add a youthful and romantic touch to bridal makeup looks. Opt for cream blush formulas in soft pinks, peaches, and corals to achieve a natural, lit-from-within flush that complements any skin tone.
Pearlescents
Pearls aren't just for jewellery anymore – they're also having a big impact in this years’ bridal makeup trends. This year, pearl-infused products are adding a luminous sheen and a touch of luxury to your bridal look. From pearl-infused primers and highlighters to pearlised eyeshadows and lip glosses, incorporating pearls into your makeup routine will give you a radiant and ethereal glow that's perfect for your special day.
Balletcore Beauty
I feel this trend may need a blog post of its own, but for now I feel balletcore deserves a mention! This trend kicked off late last year on TikTok, and balletcore beauty was ready to make waves too. This hyper-feminine trend lends itself to the clean girl aesthetics, but with an element of soft, sheer colour. Think rose golds and slight peaches with nude pink lips. Classic and wearable - perfect for 2024 bridal.

Take as little or as much inspiration from them as you wish. It’s important that you do you on your wedding day. Whatever you love, whatever you feel comfortable with, then that’s the way to go!
