Enter: The Balletcore Trend

In the constantly evoloving world of makeup, trends come and go like the seasons, each one bringing its own uniqueness. As we bid farewell to heavy glam and graphic looks, a new trend emerges. Enter Balletcore Beauty – the makeup trend of 2024 that celebrates the timeless elegance and poise of ballet dancers. In my last blog post I spoke about the new and upcoming 2024 bridal makeup trends I’m seeing. One that keeps coming up on my lovely bride’s moodboards is the softness of Balletcore.

Drawing inspiration from the world of classical ballet, Balletcore Beauty is all about channeling the effortless beauty into our everyday makeup routines, and maybe even one of the biggest days of our lives, our wedding day. Think soft, romantic hues, delicate shimmer, and gorgeous glow that effortlessly captures the essence of the ballet.

At the heart of the Balletcore trend lies a palette of soft, warm colours reminiscent of the delicate tutus and satin pointe shoes worn by dancers. Soft pinks, muted mauves, and delicate shades of ivory create the backdrop of Balletcore.

Now, trends may come and go, but hear me out. Elements of Balletcore are here and may even be here to stay within bridal makeup. The looks that I get asked for range between soft, understated and glowy, to warm, delicate shadows with soft pink hues. Sound like Balletcore? I think so too.

The key to mastering Balletcore Beauty lies in the art of subtlety. This trend embraces a more understated approach, focusing on enhancing natural features rather than masking them. Soft, diffused edges, feather-light layers and a gentle touch are the cornerstones of this aesthetic, and, if you’ve seen my work, you’ll know this is right up my street!

Glow

One of the standout features of Balletcore Beauty is its emphasis on luminous, glowing skin. Inspired by the radiant complexion of dancers under the stage lights, this trend celebrates dewy, luminous skin that exudes a healthy, youthful glow. From sheer, lightweight foundations to creamy highlighters and luminous setting powders, every product is carefully chosen to enhance the skin's natural luminosity, creating a complexion that looks lit from within.

Eyes

When it comes to eyes, Balletcore Beauty takes inspiration from the expressive gaze of dancers as they pirouette across the stage. Soft, romantic eyeshadows in shades of champagne, rose gold, and soft lilac create a this dreamy, doe-eyed effect. Fluttery lashes and softly defined brows add the perfect finishing touch, framing the eyes.

Cheeks & Lips

Of course, no Balletcore Beauty look would be complete without a touch of rosy blush and a soft, petal-pink lip. Blended seamlessly into the apples of the cheeks, a soft flush of blush adds a youthful, healthy glow to the complexion, while a swipe of sheer, glossy lipstick in a soft pink or peachy hue completes the look with a touch of understated elegance.

So, who’s embracing their inner ballerina this year? I can’t wait to create more wedding makeup looks inspired by this new trend. Looking to book your 2024 wedding makeup? I’ve got a few dates left for 2024 so pop me a message for more information.

Until next time,

Jen x
